Hangman Club Privacy Policy
Hangman Club is a word puzzle game operated by NishArc Studios. This policy explains how the current app handles guest profiles, offline play, cloud features and private online matches.
1. Guest profiles
When you connect, the app creates or restores a guest profile using a randomly generated installation registration secret. We store a hash of that secret, a player identifier, your player name and selected avatar, hashed access and refresh credentials, and profile timestamps. A real name, email address or phone number is not required to play. Please avoid including personal or sensitive information in your player name.
2. Game progress and activity
The app saves progress and preferences on your device and syncs them to our servers when connected. Records can include coins, wins and losses, streaks, category totals, saved round scores, boss-battle progress, and sound, haptic, appearance and word-language preferences. Older saved data may include progress for modes that are no longer shown in the menu, including Letter Wheel.
Gameplay events can include round starts, whether a letter guess was correct, hints used, results, mistake counts and timestamps. Session records measure foreground time, playing time and app activity. We use this information to operate cloud saves, statistics, leaderboards, game administration and service troubleshooting. Public leaderboards can display player names, avatars and best solo scores.
3. Private online rooms
Online multiplayer requires an internet connection. When you create or join a room, our servers process the room code, player identifiers and names, room and round state, scores, readiness, guessed letters, your submitted secret word and optional clue, and creation, update and expiry information. A room has a maximum of two players. The server validates turns, guesses and scoring for a ten-round match.
The other room participant can see your player name and match information. While guessing is in progress, the guesser receives a masked word with correctly guessed letters revealed. The full word is revealed to both players when the round ends. A submitted clue is visible to the other player. Room codes can be shared to invite another player; keep them within your intended group. Do not enter passwords, contact details or other sensitive information as words or clues.
Room records expire 24 hours after creation. The service rejects access after expiry; automatic database cleanup may occur later. A room remains stored until cleanup even if a player leaves or the match finishes. During a match, starting the next round replaces the previous round's word, clue and guesses in the room state. We do not promise immediate removal from provider backups or infrastructure logs. Temporary disconnections preserve the room state until it expires; leaving closes the room.
